Introduction

Never was it more important for us to seek out and identify those people whose leadership is making a real difference to civic society in Northern Ireland. As the issues facing leaders in the third sector increase in volume and complexity, these awards would be a celebration of the contributions made to our society by the resourceful and creative leaders working within NI's third sector.

The event will serve as a vehicle for celebrating the remarkable resiliency and initiative the sector is using to meet the increasingly complex needs within our communities and seeks to motivate and reward those individuals whose leadership has been exceptional.

No other organisation in NI has delivered an event like this in the past and with the absence of any other significant third sector awards, there is an ideal opportunity for organisations to nominate their Chief Officer and celebrate the many examples of outstanding leadership evident in the sector at present.

The deadline for accepting nominations for the awards has now closed.

Who can be nominated?

The Voyager Awards are open to the most senior paid staff member (whether they are called coordinator, Director, or Chief Executive) in a third sector organisation. They might run a community project, health organization, social enterprise, voluntary organisation, environmental charity or any of the many other organisations that make up the breadth of the third sector.

The CO3 Leadership Awards will be staged as a Black tie event at the CO3 Conference after a formal dinner. For more information on the conference click here.  The shortlisted individuals will be announced to the audience on the night and the final overall category winner will be presented with their unique “Voyager” Award on stage in front of hundreds of guests.

Judges

CO3 has secured a group of independent judges from the public, private and third sectors to judge the nominations for each category. CO3 staff and Board are not eligible for the awards.
