Criteria

Overall Inspiring Leader of the Year Ecclesiastical The Judging Panel will select the most outstanding nomination from across all categories to receive Overall Inspiring Leader Award.

Leading Growth and Innovation

OCN Nominees should demonstrate evidence of:
  • Have identified an area of work / project that would require significant innovation to deliver success
  • Have designed an innovative approach to tackling the issue
  • Have delivered the innovation successfully and created growth
  • Have achieved outstanding results for their organisation / cause as a result of having innovated, and can evidence that impact.
Leading on Political Impact

MCE Nominees should demonstrate:
  • How they have led effective campaigns and lobbied for maximum impact, influencing public policy, being a strong advocate of their cause.
  • How they have incorporated and championed the Voice of the Service User, giving effect to that voice in influential arenas.
  • How they have influenced the public conversation, identifying and seizing appropriate opportunities for influence.
  • How they have understood the political context, influenced political representatives and how to tailor the organisation role and message to the political agenda and political leaders.
Leading People

Made Not Born Nominees should demonstrate evidence of:
  • Lead with an understanding of service users.
  • Involve service users in building the organisation vision, in planning and in implementation of ideas.
  • Create a culture of high performance, organises people to achieve results and celebrates success.
  • Empowers team members to achieve common goals, perform in their roles, and demonstrate healthy team relationships.
Third Sector Chairperson of the Year

Edwards & Co Awarded to the chair of a charity's trustees who has made the most outstanding contribution to the performance of the charity during the year:
  • Evidence of having developed their organisational systems and governing processes in line with best practice
  • The development of productive relationships between the organisation’s chief officer and the Board– this may include involving service users at board level.
  • Provided strategic and shared leadership in moments of growth or crisis to protect the mission and purpose of the organisation.
  • Shared leadership to create innovation or plan for the development of the organisation.
Public or Private Sector Champion of the Year

Avec Nominees should demonstrate evidence of:
  • How the individual or organisation has developed a partnership or made a contribution to benefit the work and causes of the third sector
  • How the individual or organisation has understood the unique nature of the sector and worked in partnership informed by good practice such as The Concordat.
  • The evidence that the partnership has benefited the community or other beneficiaries.
CO3 Lifetime Commitment

CO3 The person nominated should demonstrate evidence of:
  • A considerable commitment to good practice in third sector leadership
  • An impressive track record of contribution to the community in Northern Ireland, including beneficiaries, stakeholders and government.
  • A role model of leadership to all those new and emerging leaders in the sector.
