Leading People

The finalists are:

Michael McGoldrick

Michael leads First Step Women’s Centre in Dungannon and has done since June 2007. In practical terms, Michael leads a vibrant, diverse organisation with very limited resources and a work force which is almost wholly comprised of part-time workers and volunteers. Michael has created a very cohesive and loyal team and promotes honest and open analysis and communication amongst all members of staff. Michael is the architect of a work place culture in which everyone willingly participates together as a team for the very clear aims and objectives of First Steps Women’s Centre. In just two years, Michael has managed to save his organization from closure and create a vibrant, energized organization with a clear and effective strategy and a bright future.

Marie Marin

Marie Marin is Chief Executive of Employers for Childcare. Marie had the vision and tenacity to set up Employers for Childcare, and despite numerous setbacks over the last ten years, she never faltered or failed to share that vision with others, and to inspire others to help make it a reality. Her team trusts her because she involves them in the decision making process and encourages them to voice their opinions and offer solutions. Marie not only inspires people through her own leadership but clearly encourages others to lead in their own right.

Alan Thomson is Chief Executive of The Orchardville Society. He has led and grown his organisation from a very small service to that of a multifaceted organisation employing over 50 people providing quality services.
